So, how often do you feed your dogs? Ho often do you let them out? It seems,, we go a couple days, no accidents, thenwe let them out, take their time, yet one mess's in the house!
Im tired of cleaning it up and its staining the wood floor.
Does feeding time have anything to do with it? Usually feed them in the evening.

Feeding and exercise are going to be very dependent on what breed you have. I own two Shelties and they are a high energy breed having a herding background and all.
They both get fed twice a day, but each dog gets a different amount of food because they're two different sizes. I also tend to walk them once a day for about 20-25 minutes, which is where they do their pooping and peeing. They also go out morning and evening to pee as well, but that's not considered a walk as they just run to a patch of grass to do their business.
I notice that when I don't take them out for a walk, one of them gets some what unruly and will go through the trash and chew on shoes. I think it's because she gets bored and has no way to release some of her pent up energy.
Other than that, my dogs are pretty good.

How old are your dogs, as age can have a huge factor in answering this question. When they mess in the house, is it urine or feces? Make sure that you are cleaning the mess with an enzyme cleaner that deactivates the scent, so that they don't keep marking the same area out of habit. Dogs should be fed twice a day. Our dogs have free access to the backyard through a doggy door.

They are 4,and 3, 12 years old! Theyy don't always make a mess, I can go 3 or 4 days beffore there is an accident. I let them out at 6:30am 11:00ish 4 and 9pm, my daughter lets them out at 1 a.m. They are all neutered/spayed. So, I am feeding them no around 5pm and go on the every 6 hours cycle. Remove water around 9pm.In the summer I leave it there.

I agree with wildmaven .
They should be fed twice a day and I always leave water because I can't choose when they should be thirsty, or not.
As far as accidents, without knowing other details, it's hard to say.
There could be medical issues, behavioral issues, or age issues.

EEven though I try and sanitize the wood floor I wonder if there is still scent in the wood. Any ideas on that?

STLUEE , I think no matter how much we try, and no matter how good the product is, their sense of smell is powerful ~ as is their memory.
Once they learn something, like our children, it's hard to unring that bell. It takes a lot of dedication and attention to do so.
